Greetings! I’m Josh Smith, a Motion Graphics Designer based in Portsmouth in the UK.

I graduated with a BA Animation degree from the University of Portsmouth in 2013, where I acquired the skills and knowledge that helped me understand the fundamentals of what makes for great animation.

Since graduating, I’ve been working full-time at agencies in Motion Designer roles. My work has included all aspects of motion design, from the ideas and storyboard stage, all the way through to creating the assets and eventually animating it all. I specialise in creating motion graphics pieces, ranging from advertising, explainer videos, logo animations, or just something that’s a little experimental.

Along with my role in Motion Graphics, I have experience helping out on Graphic Design projects in the agencies. It’s helped to teach me more about the workings of that side of the industry.

I carry out my work largely in Adobe After Effects and Illustrator, as that’s where my specialism lies. I’m also highly skilled in using the rest of the Adobe Creative Suite. As well as this, i’m experienced in Maxon Cinema 4D, which allows me to offer the option of 3D when needed.
